Dr Lewis has over 27 years experience as a Psychiatrist in public health psychiatric health
teams in the UK, South Africa and Australia.
Dr Lewis started his medical career working in trauma and acute settings in the South African townships during the periods of civil unrest and consequently has an in-depth clinical understanding of Trauma .
Dr Lewis spent 12 years as a front line psychiatrist working in rural, acute and crisis teams and on
psychiatric intensive care and forensic wards.
Dr Lewis has held positions of Director of Clinical Services in Canberra and Clinical Director in the U.K. national health service.
Dr Lewis is the psychiatric lead in the crisis team at Canberra Hospital.

Phil has 16 years clinical experience in assessment & diagnosis of adult mental health disorders. Phil started his career in the UK National Health Service and has worked in clinical settings of Addictions, Older Adults, Anger Management for Oppositional Defiant Disorder and Conduct Disorders and spent 5 years as a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist supporting clients with anxiety and mood disorders and undiagnosed ADHD.
Phil has extensive clinical experience in clinical assessments of ADHD and AuDHD in Adults
and clinical assessments of co-occurring disorders of Trauma, Anxiety & Mood Disorder.
Phil embraces a trauma informed and neurodiverse affirmative approach to his clinical assessments and has a deep understanding of how undiagnosed Neurodiverse presentations can lead to psychological trauma.
Special Interests:
Phil is an Accredited Social Work Practitioner and Cognitive Behavioural Therapist, and trained in Psychology.
Phil has extensive clinical experience in clinical assessments for adult ADHD, stimulant medications and behavioural modification approaches for adult ADHD.
Phil wrote his Master's degree dissertation on the Under Diagnosis of ADHD in Women, gifting him with deep understanding of how ADHD and AuDHD presents in adult females throughout their lives.
As a gender and queer affirming practitioner, Phil brings significant experience in neurodiverse-affirming clinical assessments.
Phil trained in Psychotherapy & Counselling in London, and embraces a holistic person centred approach during his clinical assessments. Phil embraces a neuroaffirmative approach to his clinical assessments and encourages clients to embrace and celebrate their neurodiversity within the session. This may take the form of breaks, moving around, and any behaviours that help clients stay focused or reduce anxiety.
